The Forest Floor Art Print

This is one of four pieces I drew while on a trip to the forest. It was right before I opened my larger storefront and so many unknown things were happening. But, I forced myself to sit by the fire and doodle on my iPad – and I was shocked at what happened. The Forest Series was born. Composed of minimal shapes, deep tones and unexpected color combinations, this is a more minimal direction for me. I feel it is a necessary pivot – to make space in my brain (and on the virtual canvas) for whatever's next.

"The Forest Floor" was named after the lush woods surrounding our cabin. We went on several walks over the years at this campground. One of my favorites in down a wooded path, rich with trees. There's so much to look at! Moss on the ground, interesting rocks, birch trees and birds of all kinds. This print is an homage to those walks in the woods.
