Himmeli Wall Sconces
This description is from creator Samantha Leung:
"Originating from the Swedish word for sky or heaven, himmel, the Himmeli are a traditional Finnish ornament, a mobile decoration that is usually made out of straw, or rather reeds in Finland. They are typically extremely ornate and are suspended above the dinner table during the holiday season. It is thought that the larger the Himmeli, the larger the rye crop will be in the coming year.
While you may not have a rye crop to worry about, these gorgeous Himmeli are an elegant year-round addition to any home or office. These geometric Himmeli ornaments can be suspended from the ceiling to float in the breeze, made into a fixture to adorn any wall, or embraced as an air plant holder."
- Materials: brass + wire
- Dimensions: approximately 8" (20.3cm) x 4.5" (11.4cm)
- The Himmeli will also naturally oxidize and darken as time passes, but can be polished to its original shine.
The air plant is not included, but you can purchase one here.
Launched in the Autumn of 2013, HEMLEVA is focused around bringing greenery into the home and into our daily lives. HEMLEVA is currently based out of Seattle, Washington, and is entirely run by Samantha Leung. To this day, each and every mobile and wall sconce is handmade by Samantha. Every plant is hand inspected and cared for, and each pin and keychain is designed and packaged by Samantha herself out of her Seattle studio.
